    Those present at meeting: Kim (coordinator), Alex (secretary), Tracey, John, Sue, Peter, Denis, Michael, Michael, Urmi and Devi

  3. FoE conference: September 8th-10th Sue and Peter are defiantly attending, Denis will attend if possible. Conference will be held at Nottingham University.
  4. FoE Big Ask, Big Mouth, Big Lobby update: FoE are trying to get all MP’s to write to Tony Blair and David Miliband to ask them to include the climate change bill in the Queen’s speech. Kim has spoken to Bob Spink who has provided a copy of the letter he has sent to Tony Blair. Peter, Micheal and Sue will ask David Amess, James Duddridge and Mark Francois. Roger is known to be keen to help as well. Kim has left messages on the FoE boards for the Billericay, Basildon and Thurrock areas asking people to make an appointment in these constituency areas and he will gladly attend the meeting with them.
  5. Bradwell wind farm proposal: SEEFoE have leafleted Burnham in respect of the proposal and followed this up by attending meetings and giving out FoE windfarm leaflets from their campaign stall. . FoE want to know what SEEFoE have done so that the information can be made available to other groups. Jon will give a summery and then direct them to Peter’s website (wewantawindfarm.org) for any further information.
  6. Big Ask High Street campaign update: All the MPS in the area have signed up except for John Baron, he has received 31 Big Ask postcards so far but will soon receive the 200ish from our Billericay campaign. The areas left that have not signed are Brentwood (MP Eric Pickles) and Harridge (MP Douglas Corswell). Decision was to not go to these areas but to monitor if John Baron signs and then hold another Billericay campaign stall if he does not.
  7. Climate change/launch meeting Temple Sutton school hall booked for launch meeting for 10th October at 7:30-9:30. The FOE coordinator Tony Juniper and Richard Britton from Essex Energy Efficiency Agency will speak. Jon has agreed to be chairman for the meeting. Denis and Peter will invite the local MP’s and council members. We will provide free energy efficient light bulbs, Big Ask postcards, group membership forms and FoE direct debit forms. This will be arranged by Kim. The Yellow Advertiser have agreed to print a three week special feature which john has agreed to write. Denis will arrange posters which will be available to print off the Internet on our website for anyone who can print one off and put it up somewhere. Kim to get them put up in Benfleet, Canvey, and Pitsea and Hadleigh libraries, and Castle Point Council information boards. Peter to take some to Southend central library where the will be distributed to all libraries in the Southend area. Tracey agreed to arrange tea, paper cups etc and man the tea urn on the day. Denis will see how many badges they have for the group to use on the evening. Press release and local radio stations contact to be arranged by Kim. Peter and Denis will pick up Tony Juniper from the station if required. It is hoped that as many group members will attend the meeting as possible.

    Members of FoE have nominated the SEEFoE group as “group of the year” this year.
