   Present:
   Kim (co-ordinator), Alex (secretary), Tracey, Jon, Sarah, Devi, Michael, Peter (treasurer), Denis, Michael

3. FoE Big Ask, Big Month, Big Lobby update:

   Devi Raval has made an appointment to go with Kim and see Angela Smith Basildon MP on 29th September.

   Alix Walker, who saw our details on the FoE lobby boards, has asked Kim to go with him to see Andrew MacKinley MP for Thurrock. Bob Spink, MP for Castle Point has already written to Tony Blair. Sue has an appointment to see Mark Francois MP for Rayleigh on 12th September.

   Peter will contact James Duddridge and Michael will contact David Amess. Kim will write to John Baron as we cannot find anyone living within his constituency willing to go and see him.

4. Big Ask High Street campaign update:

   John Baron has replied to our e-mail and has stated that he will sign EDM178 once Parliament reconvenes. All the MPs from Thurrock to Shoebury will then have signed EDM 178 with the exception of Angela Smith who cannot as she is a junior minister.

5. Climate change/launch meeting:

   Tuesday 10th October 7:30 pm Denis has done the poster and Eileen Peck has offered to put some up in the Thundersley area. Jon has written the three special features for the Yellow Advertiser and they have been forwarded and agreed.

   BBC Essex will advertise the meeting but did not want to carry out an interview. Kim to send a press release three weeks prior to the meeting. Posters will be put up in Leigh, Castle Point, and Southend by various members. Kim to get posters put up in Canvey and Benfleet Libraries, Peter will take a quantity to Southend library who will distribute them to the others in the area.

   Kim to arrange posters for all Castle Point information boards.

   General press release to sent out at least two weeks prior to the meeting.

   Jon is going to bring plastic cups for tea etc.

   Tracey is sorting out pens and a receipt book.

   Denis is making badges for us.

   Sarah and Alex will ‘man’ the table at the meeting.

   SEEFoE be there for 7:00 pm!

6. Date of next meeting:

   3rd October 7:30pm 16 Queens Road mostly to discuss the Launch meeting.

7. AOB:

   The bank account is almost open. On 4th November is The Day of International Climate Protest outside Trafalgar Square. Several members of the group wish to go. Details on our web site.
