  1. Apologies for absence:
    None received
    Present:
    Denis Walker (DW), Peter Walker (PW), Michael Woolcott (MW), Michael Downer (MD), Sarah Fuller (SF), Jon Fuller (JF), Sue Willis-Green (SW), and Kim Power (KP)
  2. Minutes of last meeting:
    Proposed DW. Agreed by all.
  3. Report on Cooperative Society "An Inconvenient Truth":
    DW gave feedback to group. Event went well with 3 FoE members on stall; MD, PW and DW. 40 light bulbs went and 25 postcards were signed. Julia Fuller has thanked us and wants to do it again. EST, SBC recycling people and Christian Aid also there.
  4. Report on Local Planning Seminar:
    JF feedback on Local Planning Seminar: Draft document. Developments to ease Climate change will be presumed in favour of and against out of town development etc BUT not going to stop supermarkets and airports. Strong message in favour of renewables.
  5. Southend Regeneration Plan:
    JF thinks we should rewrite it as a 5-6 page document more in keeping with the new planning regulations. Should be put on website and sent to all councillors. There are good things councils can do; e.g. Braintree council and British gas, insulation reduces council tax. We must insist on low carbon buildings. Please look at document- comments to JF by next week. If put in objections to new housing ask for PP1 compliance. DW handed out postcards about planning- please fill in and send off.
