Minutes

1. Apologies for absence:
   Sarah Fuller, Paul Circus
   Present:
   Denis Walker (DW), Peter Walker (PW), Michael Woolcott (MW), Gabrielle Yeadell (GY) & Jon Fuller (JF).
2. Co-ordinator's Report:
   DW provided a report on the activities of the last year, highlighting work on the Big Ask campaign, PPPS, the Southend regeneration plan, and Southend Airport. DW proposed to undertake further work in the coming year on biofuels and marine conservation.
   The report was welcomed by all, proposed by PW, seconded by MD and accepted by all.
3. Treasurer's Report:
   The report was provided by PW, detailing all income and expenditure. The current bank balance was £434.74. The report was welcomed by the group.
4. Election of Officers:
   The group expressed a specific note of thanks to DW for his superb work and organisational skills over the last year. He agreed to stand for another year and was unanimously elected.
   Also elected unanimously were PW (Treasurer) and SF (Secretary).
5. Membership fees:
   DW reminded the group of an earlier debate around the wisdom of lowering the membership fee in order to attract greater numbers. The various options were discussed with agreement that the fee would be £10.00 for waged and £5.00 for unwaged people for the remainder of 2008. The group agreed that in 2009 it would run a trial of free membership. Donations would be sought towards specific campaigns as and when necessary.
